Buckinghamshire Council Local Plan - Regulation 19 Consultation

Buckinghamshire Council is preparing a new Local Plan to guide where and how development should take place across Buckinghamshire up to 2045.

The Council has now reached the Regulation 19 (Publication) stage of plan preparation and is inviting representations on the Proposed Submission draft Local Plan for Buckinghamshire.

This is the final statutory consultation stage before the Plan is submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination by the Planning Inspectorate.

The Proposed Submission draft Local Plan for Buckinghamshire sets out the Council’s strategy for delivering homes, employment, infrastructure and community facilities across the county to 2045. It also establishes the planning policies that will be used to manage and guide future development proposals.

The Plan, Policies Map, supporting evidence base documents and information on how to make a representation are available on the Council’s Regulation 19 consultation webpage at www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/local-plan.

The consultation period runs from Thursday 23 July 2026 until 11:59pm on Sunday 6 September 2026.

Representations should focus on whether the Plan has been prepared in accordance with the relevant legal requirements and whether it is sound.

All duly made representations received during the consultation period will be submitted to the Planning Inspectorate alongside the Plan and supporting evidence for consideration as part of the independent examination process.
